The Pioneers are the blue-jacketed, smiling face of StoneX Stadium, offering a unique approach to match day services, all delivered by volunteers.
The Pioneer programme was established when Saracens moved to StoneX Stadium (then know as Allianz Park) in 2013 and is now an integral part of match days at the stadium. We maintain a pool of over 150 Pioneers with typically about 100 on duty at every game. Every Pioneer has either attained or is working towards an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Spectator Safety.
Their primary responsibility is supporter safely, delivered with a friendly, welcoming face. Match day duties include working with the children’s community festivals, welcoming our fans by Meeting and Greeting at Edgware, Mill Hill Broadway and Mill Hill East stations, as well as the Pursley Road bus stops and footpaths.
At the stadium, the ticketing Pioneers are on duty at the three entrance gates. Another team helps to look after the hospitality suites in the East Stand, and a small team works with visiting journalists in the Media Centre.
The biggest team is ‘Spectator Services’, working in and around the stands. Behind the scenes there is a Volunteer Management Team which is engaged in Pioneer match day planning and logistics. All these roles are vital in enhancing the match day experience for all spectators.
